Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Route Guide handles information when you visit the website, purchase access, or use the app.

Information stored on your device

Route files, delivery addresses, mapped coordinates, progress, stop notes, and voice notes are stored in your browser on your device. Route Guide does not maintain a central copy of this route information. It remains until you replace it, clear it through the app or browser, or remove the browser's site data.

Information processed to provide the service

  • Addresses are sent through a Cloudflare Worker to the U.S. Census Geocoder when you generate a route.
  • Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap. Standard network information, such as your IP address and requested map tiles, may be processed by the map provider.
  • If you choose a Google Maps fallback link, the address is sent to Google under Google's own privacy terms.
  • GPS location is used by your browser to show movement and distance. Route Guide does not centrally store your GPS history.

Purchases and licenses

Stripe processes payments. Route Guide does not receive or store full card numbers. We store the buyer email, a Stripe checkout reference, a one-way hash of the access code, license status, and license timestamps in Cloudflare D1 so access can be validated and recovered.

Service providers

Route Guide relies on Cloudflare for hosting, server functions, and license storage; Stripe for payments; the U.S. Census Bureau for address geocoding; OpenStreetMap for map tiles; Google Maps only when a user opens a fallback search; and an email provider for purchase and recovery messages. Each provider handles information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Retention and security

License records are retained while needed to provide purchased access, maintain transaction records, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. Local route information is controlled by the user through browser storage. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online or device-storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices

You can remove local app data through your browser's site-data controls. Use Manage Access inside the app to remove the saved access code from that browser. To ask about license information associated with your email, contact us below.

Children

Route Guide is intended for working drivers and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above will identify the current version. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
